Emergency Electrician — Fast Response, Safe Resolution
Power loss, sparking sockets, partial outages, fault finding and emergency electrical repairs. NICEIC-registered electricians attending across London and the South East. Rapid response for landlords, homeowners and businesses.
Electrical Emergencies Don't Wait
Some electrical problems can wait — others can’t. Burning smells, sparking sockets, hot switches, repeated tripping that won’t reset, water near electrics, partial power loss in occupied premises — these are all situations where calling immediately is the right thing to do. Our team responds quickly, diagnoses properly, and either fixes on the spot or makes the situation safe pending fuller repair.
Total Power Loss
Sudden complete loss of electricity in your property. Could be DNO supply issue, consumer unit fault, or major fault on a circuit. We diagnose fast.
Partial Power Loss
Some circuits live, others dead. Usually a tripped RCD/RCBO that won’t reset — indicating an active fault somewhere on the circuit.
Burning Smells / Hot Outlets
A burning smell, hot switch or hot socket is potentially serious. Stop using the affected circuit. Call us immediately for safety inspection.
Sparking or Arcing
Visible sparks at sockets, switches or in the consumer unit are urgent. Do not use. Call for emergency attendance.
Fault Finding
Persistent intermittent issues — flickering lights, occasional trips, lights dimming when appliances start — usually indicate underlying problems we can diagnose and fix.
Water + Electrics
Leaks reaching electrical fittings, sockets or wiring. Always isolate the supply if safe to do so. We attend, make safe and repair.
What Happens When You Call
When you call our emergency line, we triage immediately. If the situation is genuinely dangerous (sparks, smoke, electric shock risk), we advise you on immediate make-safe steps (isolating circuits, evacuating if necessary). We confirm response time — typically same-day across Greater London for standard emergencies, faster where genuinely urgent. The attending electrician will diagnose the fault, explain options, and either resolve immediately or make safe pending a planned return to complete repairs.

Common Emergency Fault Categories
Most emergency callouts fall into one of a few fault categories. Knowing what’s likely speeds diagnosis and repair.
Faulty Sockets & Switches
Loose connections, burnt terminals, water damage. Replacement and re-termination resolve most issues in under an hour.
Lighting Circuit Faults
Failed fittings, damaged transformers, neutral faults. Diagnosed and either repaired or isolated for replacement.
Consumer Unit Issues
Faulty RCDs, damaged MCBs, loose busbar connections. Often resolved on the day with replacement components.
EV Charger Faults
Communication failures, MCB trips, supply issues. We diagnose and resolve EV charger faults same-day where parts available.
Water Damage
Leaks affecting wiring, sockets, lighting points. Make-safe immediately, then dry-out plan and replacement.
Mystery Trips
Intermittent RCD trips with no obvious cause require methodical fault-finding. Most resolved in 1-2 hours of diagnostic work.
Common Questions
How fast can you respond?
Same-day response is standard for emergency calls across Greater London received during working hours. Genuinely urgent situations (electric shock risk, fire risk, occupied premises power loss) are prioritised. Out-of-hours emergency cover is available — please call to confirm.
What's your call-out fee?
Standard emergency call-out is from £80-£120 (depending on time of day and travel) which includes the first hour on site. Additional time charged hourly. Parts and any planned replacement work quoted separately. We confirm pricing on the call before dispatch.
Do you do out-of-hours emergencies?
Yes — emergency cover available evenings and weekends, with appropriate premium rates. Critical emergencies (fire risk, occupied premises with no power, vulnerable residents) are always prioritised.
Are you a 24/7 emergency electrician?
We provide emergency cover into evenings and weekends with priority call-out. Genuine 24-hour overnight cover is by arrangement for ongoing client relationships and high-value commercial contracts. For 999-equivalent immediate danger, contact your local fire service.
Can you fix the problem on the same visit?
Most emergency faults are diagnosed and resolved in a single visit. Where specialist parts are needed (specific consumer unit components, manufacturer-specific items), we make the situation safe and return promptly with parts.
Will my insurance cover this?
Many home and landlord insurance policies cover emergency electrical repairs — particularly where storm, leak or sudden mechanical failure caused the fault. We provide full invoice documentation suitable for insurance claims.
Do you handle landlord emergencies?
Yes — frequently. Power loss in tenanted properties is one of our most common emergency callouts. We attend, diagnose, fix or make-safe, and provide landlord-ready documentation. Relationship pricing available for letting agents and portfolio landlords.
