EV Charger Installation — Smart, Safe, Certified
Professional electric vehicle charger installation for homeowners, landlords and businesses. NICEIC-registered electricians, smart charging solutions, OZEV-approved equipment. Domestic, commercial and workplace charging — installed quickly, certified properly.
Future-Proof Your Property as the EV Transition Accelerates
From 2030, no new petrol or diesel cars will be sold in the UK. EV adoption is now the fastest-growing segment of UK new car sales. For homeowners, an EV charger adds value and convenience. For landlords, it’s becoming a tenant expectation — and from 2026, it counts toward EPC C 2030 readiness. For businesses, workplace charging is a recruitment, retention and ESG win.
Home Installation
Single charger to a domestic property. Most installs completed in 3-4 hours. Smart-enabled chargers as standard, with app control and tariff optimisation.
Commercial Installation
Multi-bay charging for offices, retail, hospitality and industrial sites. Load management, payment integration and ESG reporting capability.
Landlord Installation
EV chargers for rental properties. Increases tenant appeal, supports MEES improvements, and counts towards EPC rating uplift.
Smart Charging
Apps, scheduling, off-peak tariff integration, solar matching. Most chargers now offer real-time monitoring and smart features.
Full Electrical Survey
Pre-install survey checks consumer unit capacity, earthing arrangements and supply load. Upgrades included in quotation if needed.
Certified Installation
All installations notified to building control, certified to BS 7671 / IET 18th Edition. NICEIC certificate issued on completion.
Brands We Install
We work with the leading UK and European EV charger brands — Hypervolt, Easee, Andersen, Wallbox, Pod Point, Zappi, Ohme and many more. We’ll recommend the right charger for your property, lifestyle and budget rather than pushing one brand. Common Questions
How much does EV charger installation cost?
Domestic installations typically range from £900 to £1,400 including a quality smart charger. Pricing depends on the charger model selected, cable run distance, consumer unit capacity and whether earth electrode is required. Free no-obligation quote available.
Do I need to upgrade my consumer unit?
Often no — modern consumer units already include suitable RCBOs. Where the existing board is older or near capacity, a small upgrade or dedicated EV circuit may be needed. We confirm this in the pre-install survey.
Can I get a grant towards installation?
OZEV grants for individual homeowners ended in 2022, but specific grants are still available for landlords (EV Chargepoint Grant for rental properties), people in flats and apartments (EV Chargepoint Grant for flats), and workplace installations (Workplace Charging Scheme). We help clients identify and apply for relevant grants.
Will installation increase my EPC rating?
Yes — EV charger installation contributes positively to EPC ratings under the new HEM EPC methodology coming in 2027. It’s one of several measures landlords can use towards EPC C 2030 compliance.
How fast does the charger work?
A standard 7kW home charger adds approximately 25-30 miles of range per hour. Faster 22kW chargers (requiring 3-phase supply) add up to 90 miles per hour. Most domestic properties have single-phase supply suitable for 7kW; commercial sites often have 3-phase available.
Can I have a charger if I have solar panels?
Yes — and we recommend it. Many smart chargers (Zappi, Hypervolt, etc.) include solar matching mode that uses your surplus solar energy to charge your EV for free. We integrate solar + battery + EV charging holistically.
Do I need planning permission?
For most home installations, no — under permitted development rights. Listed buildings, conservation areas and rear-of-property installations may have restrictions. We advise during the survey.
