Typical signs are rubber or lead-sheathed cables, a fuseboard with rewirable fuses, round-pin or surface-mounted sockets, frequent tripping or scorch marks, or an EICR listing widespread C2 observations. A survey confirms whether a full or partial rewire is the right answer.

Q: How much does it cost to rewire a house?

It depends on the size of the property, whether it is a full or partial rewire, how many sockets and lights you want, and whether the home is occupied during the work. Pricing is subject to a survey: we inspect the existing installation first and give you an itemised quote, so you can see where a partial rewire would do instead of a full one.

Q: How long does a rewire take?

A typical two or three bedroom house takes five to ten working days depending on size, access and whether the property is occupied. We phase work room by room where a home stays occupied.

Q: Is rewiring notifiable?

Yes. A rewire is notifiable work under Part P of the Building Regulations. Our NICEIC registration lets us self-certify and notify building control, and you receive an Electrical Installation Certificate on completion.
